ICC rejects Gbagbo request to seek medical treatment abroad

The International Criminal Court in The Hague has told former Ivory Coast leader Laurent Gbagbo he must remain in detention pending a decision on whether he will face trial. The court cited a risk he might abscond. Gbagbo who has been accused of crimes against humanity during a four-month civil war had wanted to go abroad for medical treatment.
