Hero Dog Without Snout and Jaw to Get Treatment in US

A dog that lost its snout saving two girls in the Philippines will get treatment in the U.S.

A dog from the Philippines who saved the lives of two young girls is finally receiving the medical attention it needs from veterinarians at the University of California – Davis.

Kabang, the female dog gained some notoriety in the media after she threw herself in front of a moving motorcycle to save her owner’s daughter and niece from getting hit.

The dog lost its snout and upper jaw, and has arrived in the United States to receive much needed medical attention.

A website dedicated to raising money for her has earned over 20 thousand dollars to pay for her travel expenses and medical care. (1,6,1) The website to raise money for Kabang was started by a nurse in Buffalo, New York named Karen Kenngott.

“It’s remarkable and it’s amazing; she got the funding to do that, and we just hope we can do whatever we can to make her happy, healthy and be able to enjoy life like she deserves,” a UC Davis representative told ABC News.
