Detox is definitely better than ignoring the alcohol problem, detox with some form of aftercare and counselling is even a better idea.

What’s your view of including rehab in treatment? Terminology needs refinement: alcohol rehabilitation in human beings is similar to a computer crash recovery – to restore the “system” to a stage where it was before the “breakdown” happened. There was a time when everything was all right. for those alcohol addicts that have suffered a wide spectrum of trauma, it’s not about rehabilitation, it’s about habilitation.
