Years ago, when I was a kid, there was something inside myself that always felt that I was different. That I was less than. Once I found drugs, it seemed to replace that void inside. That feeling of “I’m different than” and “I’m not part of the group.” And it made me feel accepted too. That lasted for a short time. Afterwards, it became complete drug addiction. I saw everything outside myself to make me feel better. Whether it was drugs, a different change in scenes, a different social crowd, I never thought that there was something deep inside me that was actually wrong. I always thought it was the drugs. It got to a point that I couldn’t take it anymore. I knew that I needed something. I wasn’t sure what it exactly it was. I knew that I needed to get clean at the very smallest amount. So I came down to Palm Partners. Slowly but surely, things started to get better. I started to actually see why, you could say, I was the way that I was. I was very shy, very insecure. And through processes here at Palm Partners and through the staff and through their encouragement and everything, I can see that the future is a bright thing. I’m excited about it.
