I put together a video for the folks at the Dubuque Rescue Mission (where I volunteer) about treating alcoholism, depression, and schizophrenia using vitamin B3 (niacin).
The video includes YouTube clips of Dr. Abram Hoffer, MD, PhD, one of the most respected names in Orthomolecular Medicine. Dr. Hoffer actually mentions several different ways to care for the homeless in the latter half of the video.
At 2:20 in the video Hoffer also mentions the utility of niacin in treating arthritis and also mentions that niacin is the ‘gold standard for lowering cholesterol’.
