New Beginnings Recovery Center offers a safe and comfortable outpatient alcohol detox program. Withdrawal from alcohol can be a very frightening experience for a heavy drinker. During this process, alcohol withdrawal symptoms are monitored and treated by our staff. The traditional detox utilizes medications that address withdrawal symptoms, cravings, and restoration. Previously, alcohol detoxification was almost always performed in a hospital setting. But now, NBRC can safely and comfortably detox patients without a confining and costly hospital stay through a brief series of office visits.

We address the three primary areas of alcohol withdrawal:

-Management of withdrawal symptoms: Alcohol withdrawal is managed with the use of various medications that are available for addiction medicine. Patients are kept comfortable throughout the entire detox process.

-Cravings: The cravings for alcohol can be extremely intense during the withdrawal process. NBRC utilizes a host of the latest anti-craving medications. Certain combinations of medications can provide a powerful blockade of the craving cycle.

-Restoration: The chronic use of alcohol can produce a vitamin B1 deficiency that can be very dangerous and result in memory loss. Restoration is accomplished by a powerful combination of vitamin B-12, B-Complex, Folic Acid and other various amino acids. Coaching and counseling is provided every step of the way.

Alcohol Withdrawal Symptoms
Alcohol withdrawal symptoms may occur from suddenly stopping the use of alcohol after chronic or prolonged ingestion. This can be very dangerous and could possibly lead to a seizure or worse. Not everyone who stops drinking experiences withdrawal symptoms, but most people who have been drinking for a long period of time, drink frequently, or drink heavily when they do drink, will experience some form of withdrawal symptoms if they stop suddenly. In many cases, going “cold turkey” may result in serious health risks including the possibility of seizures and coma. These are some of the symptoms that may occur during alcohol withdrawal: headache, clammy skin, sweating, hand tremors, nausea, confusion, vomiting, hallucinations, loss of appetite, delirium tremens, insomnia, agitation, paleness, fever, rapid heart rate, convulsions, dilated pupils, and black outs.

Optional Outpatient Counseling Therapy
Although support counseling is included in the cost of the detox, all patients have the option to attend Intensive Out-Patient Program (IOP) (group) counseling or Individual Therapy during and after treatment. All outpatient counselors are licensed and experienced addiction professionals. We offer several therapy options that will fit any schedule.

Psychiatric Evaluation Included
NBRC offers a variety of Psychiatric Services from Evaluation and Follow Up Treatment. Psychiatric Services are utilized to treat patients with Co-occurring Disorders. Frequently mental health disorders can lie underneath and in some cases fuel substance dependency. All patients enrolled in our programs, have the option for a no cost Psychiatric Evaluation performed by a Board Certified Psychiatric staff member in addition to the basic services of each program. Now those that have struggled with depression, anxiety or any other co-occurring disorder, have the opportunity to get the substance dependency and the underlying psychiatric issues treated concurrently. Some optional Complementary Alternative Medicine (CAM) utilized may include Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), Hypnotherapy, Progressive Muscle Relaxation and Visual Imagery Therapy and Psychiatric Medication Management.

The Alcohol Detox Program Has the Option to Add:

– Integrative Detox Programs: The NBRC Integrative Detox Programs combine traditional detox medicine and Complementary Alternative Medicine (CAM) therapy including our Restore Neurotransmitter Restoration Program™. The CAM therapies utilized at NBRC have proven scientific evidence of safety and effectiveness. This in turn results in a significant reduction in withdrawal symptoms typically associated with detoxification.

– Restore Neurotransmitter Restoration Program™: The Restore Neurotransmitter Restoration Program™ is an IV and Oral Supplement Amino Acid, Vitamin and Mineral repletion Program. This program provides a quicker and more thorough restoration of nutritional and neurotransmitter function to help alleviate many of the symptoms of the drug or alcohol withdrawal syndrome and restore deficient nutritional conditions that typically come with substance dependencies.
