Quit Drinking Quit Drugs – What is a Detox Really Like
In this video I explain what a detox is. I tell what happens to people coming off of alcohol or drug abuse who enter a detox what to expect. I explain how a detox is dedicated to the worst of the worst situations where the most severe drunks and drug users go to get sober. I explain how a detox is a short term stay that is manned by nurses to oversee and stabilize peoples health concerns. I explain how detox’s are located in either community facilities or have their own dedicated or are located on site for rehabilitation centers. The goal of most detox is to get people admitted into a rehabilitation center introduced to the AA and NA programs and onto a sober life. I also explain how I was actually banned from a detox as a testament to how bad a drunk I was. I offer encouragement to anyone in a detox or considering going that there is hope for a better sober life as I have been sober well over 4 years now. By Jake Johnston
