Its come to point that he just wants to be alone and drink till he can’t no more. Its come to the point that my mother can’t take the behavior like waking up in the middle of twilight and waking her up in the process that she gets emotional when I question her about it.
The back story is that he has recently had surgery in his intestines and I thought he finally changed. He had been mildly okay with his drinking for 3 years up until the surgery, which was no longer than 2 months ago. Now it seems as he’s in downward spiral, as he is also smoking ago after being off for 15 years. We are also losing the house as he is declaring for bankruptcy. He is obviously overwhelmed with stress.
But his drinking is beyond what anyone can safely endure. I try to sit down with him and talk it over but he refuses to think what he is doing. I’m willing to give a rehabilitation talk with him but I’m starting to lose hope. I, myself, am trying to get into the military to straighten my life out but I don’t have the will to leave my folks here with anger in the air.
